Need some advice?

Who or what do you turn to when you have a problem? Your favorite mag’s Q&A column? Your parents? Your bff? Or do you just face it all alone?

Let me ask you another question. Who should you turn to when you have a problem? The “Sunday-school-answer” would, of course, be God. And that’s the right answer. Sometimes that might sound a little unrealistic. Sometimes you might wonder if God can really give you any real advice. I mean, He’s not the one getting ignored by the bff, right?

Take a look at the Bible says. In Isaiah 9:6 God is called our “Wonderful Counselor” among other amazing titles like “Mighty God”, “Everlasting Father” and “Prince of Peace”. That verse is a pretty famous one, but often the wonderful counselor part kinda gets skipped. But if that is put in a list with all those other awesome titles, He must actually give some pretty good advice and wisdom.

James 1:5-6 says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.” As long as you have faith, God promises He will give you wisdom when you ask! That’s pretty amazing.

So the next time you need some advice, try turning to God before anything or anyone else. He’s our Wonderful Counselor and wisdom-giver! Trust me, He has much better advice than that Q&A column!
