Happy New Year!

Remember when I first announced the 31 Day Challenge? Well today is the last day! I want to congratulate Michaela F., Catherine C., Ragan K, Liz J., and Jessica B., for participating in this challenge. Over the past month they have memorized the book of James, given their time and thoughts to others, and drawn closer to God! In the final challenge they received today, they were encouraged to keep doing those three things even though the challenge is over. I encourage you to do the same!

Today is the last day of 2010! Most people think of tomorrow as a fresh start, a clean slate, but as Christians everyday can be a fresh start. Even though today is the last day of 2010, make today count. Don’t start all your resolutions tomorrow, start today. This year, however, try to focus on spiritual resolutions than shallow ones you probably won’t even remember after a month or so. Examine your heart and do you what you need to do to get rid of it, with God’s help. Think of others before yourself. Start (or continue) spending time with God on a daily basis and work hard to please Him. Make this year one you will never forget not because you lost those stubborn ten pounds or because you finally learned how to knit, but because your relationship with God improved and you lived life fully in Him!

Here are two great resources for spiritual resolutions: My One Word and The Lies Young Women Believe Blog .

What are your resolutions for this coming year? How to you plan to stick to them?
